Subject: Cupcake Kids - HELP!! I need more kids
Importance: High

Hey everyone,
I have a challenge for you… and it's fun, involves your kiddos and it's cheap!  I bet my friend that I could get 20 kids to do this with T and I and I'm only up to 4!!  You don't have to meet at my house - you can do it ANYWHERE… and on any day - they just suggested May 5th but again - any day is fine.  You may not have a "heart" for Uganda… but maybe you or your kids DO have a heart to give back but don't know where to get started.  Grab your child, a niece, a nephew, a friend … and get selling!!  Oh and I don't need to know what you sold or if you don't want to… just need to find 20 kids so if your kid/friend(s) are in - let me know!!!  Thanks!!

So far the kids I have committed are:
1. Tristan Barber
2. Holden Coggeshall
3. Lane Coggeshall
4. Hadley Coggeshall

The Cupcake Kids was really the kids’ idea. They had been watching their parents becoming involved with a ministry in Uganda, Africa called SixtyFeet and they wanted to help out in their own way. “Why don’t we sell cupcakes and lemonade on the corner one afternoon and give all the money to the kids in Africa?” they said one day. Okay, why not? So we gathered some friends, designed a sign or two, baked some adorable cupcakes and sat out on the street corner. Some folks showed up. And God showed up…big time!

As moms and dads who are involved in ministries both here in the US and internationally, we really wanted our children to grow up with compassionate hearts for others…to look beyond their own wants and desires and address other peoples’ desperate needs. That’s what makes The Cupcake Kids so special. Not only was it created by kids, it blesses children half way around the world. And it’s the perfect way to get your kids and family involved in missional work!

In April of 2011, we had our very first {Inter}National Cupcake Kids sale. The Cupcake Kids had over 140 sales in 35 states and 5 countries! Children all over the world helped to raise over $70,000 for SixtyFeet! (And this number continued to grow as folks kept hosting Cupcake Kid sales well past April!)

This year, the {Inter}National Cupcake Kids sale will be held on May 5, 2012. Please remember, you don’t have to have your Cupcake Kid’s sale on this exact date – any day of the year will do! And you don’t have to sell just cupcakes…we’ve had folks from all over sell coffee on Day Light’s Savings, host benefit concerts, make adorable cupcake crafts….just about anything to raise awareness for the precious children in Uganda.

Anyone can become a Cupcake Kid and help raise awareness for SixtyFeet. Find out how you can host your very own Cupcake Kid sale. Feel free to put your own spin on your Cupcake Kid sale. God has gifted each of us differently – use the talent He has given you!

All you have to do is:

1. Let the Cupcake Kids know when and where you are having a sale by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.

2. Spread the word through facebook, blogs, emails, and good ol’ fashioned word of mouth. You can also print this adorable card to give to folks. And don’t forget to send out your personal Cupcake Kids webpage reminding people when and where your Cupcake Kids sale will be. You can also send your personal Cupcake Kids webpage to out of town friends or family and encourage them to buy a virtual cupcake.

3. Make some cupcakes (or other goodies) and some lemonade (or other drinks). Here are some super cute and pretty easy ideas for cupcakes. But don’t think you cupcakes have to be professionally decorated. Letting the kids have a hay-day with the decorations is super fun, too!

4. Choose a safe location (there will be lots of kids running around!) that is well-traveled. Folks have had sales in their front yard, in front of their local grocery store, at their parent’s office, at neighborhood garage sales, at their local farmer’s market, at their church, at their schools….think anywhere there are people!

5. Set up a table, make some posters, print some informational fliers about SixtyFeet and why you are having the sale. Shout out at the top of your lungs, “Cupcakes for Africa!”

6. We have found in the past it’s better if you don’t put a set price on the goods for sale. We like to engage people in conversation and explain to them about SixtyFeet and the children in Uganda. And we’ve been known to sell cupcakes for $25!

7. You might also want to talk to “cupcakeries” in your area and ask if they’ll donate a portion of their profits to SixtyFeet. Feel free to take this letter with you.

8. Take lots of pictures and email them to The Cupcake Kids at TheCupcakeKids@SixtyFeet.org. We’ll post them on the website and celebrate together!

9. When all your money is collected, email The Cupcake Kids the total and send a check to (please do not send cash):
