Tuesdays with Tristan

Well, Holt started a new tradition today... I know, I know.. it's not Tuesday... this week it was a Friday but starting Tuesday, October 2nd... he will do Tuesday's with Tristan.

Today he took him on the train to the Aquarium and they apparently had a blast...

 

 

 

 

then they went to lunch!

 

And then this... well... hat... REALLY HOLT?

 

I just said what a great dad you are - LOL

 

and because of that hat...yes, I WILL BEAT YOU!

Picture day at Grace Academy...well, sort of...

Today was picture day at school.  Getting Tristan in anything OTHER THAN sweats and a T-shirt is war.  FLAT. OUT. WAR.

I told him he would get a special surprise if he wore his shirt for FIVE minutes.

Well... by the time he got to school, he forgot about our little agreement.  His teacher said he ripped off the shirt and game over. *SIGH*

Picture day was in a white Balfour Beatty Shirt!  NO!!!

After a lengthy discussion with him... we gave him a do-over. BUT HE had to put on his own shirt and pants...and be a big boy.

HE DID IT!  I have to say, Holt took some fantastic pics... much better than they would have produced in those cheesy backdrops!

Doug is here for a visit!!

So yesterday, Holt was replanting some plants... in the midst of digging through some old soil, he smacked into a big 'ol froggie!

Tristan was scared to touch him and Holt wanted to make sure he was ok.  I haven't see a frog since last year (and when I lived on the greenbelt I saw them daily) so this was VERY exciting. I love frogs!

Daddy was out front (literally) watering the roof... when our neighbor Zach (see his red shirt down there) came over to introduce himself.  We already met his wife Jodi and son Cooper (he is one month older than T.

So we chatted... hung out for a few.. explained WHY we were watering the roof 

- cuz that is W-E-I-R-D-

 

 

and then Coop (Cooper) and Jodi stopped over! They have invited us to neighborhood stuff 3 times now and we can never go SO we decided to have a get-to-know-your-neighbor BARBER-Q in October!

I can't believe it but our team won the Door Decroating Contest at Grace! 

THey didn't mention Holt though - so I will...

Congratulations.... K3!

The Boosterthon Team voted and the winner of the door competition is Ms. Molet's Class! This door was complete with toy cars driving along Highway USA. Each K3 student was represented on the door in different towns, all making good choices. Way to go K3! Big things can come from small people!

Aunt Teen's birthday

While Mom and I were busy at Barry... Tristan headed off to Aunt Christine's (Aunt Teen) birthday party and hung out with his cousins.

 

 

Sophia (Phia) watched over him like a hawk...

 

 

 

and he and Nicholas (Nick) played cars....

and iPad games

 

 

and just downright had FUN!!

I am SO proud at the way he just trusts his family and jumps right in to the party.

As usual... he's a hit!!!

Barry told us the reason he truly believes he became a singer was because his Grandpa Joe saw something musical in him and used to take him from Brooklyn to NYC on the weekends and spend 35 cents to record Barry's voice....
