He keeps getting cuter

The new play yard is a hit

Well it's a hit!  He loves it and I can't wait until the Steiner's get here because I'll bet money I won't get the three of them off this set!

shoes or no shoes... he's going up

and down!

He yelled "Daddy I'll be right down to take your order"

(so what... that IS what I told him to say but it was still cute!)

What a great thing to have for kids.  I had metal monkey bars and I loved them!!!  This thing rocks!

June Service Project - Round 2!

Well, after my mistake last week... we were very careful and it was

VERY wrapped and protected!

Surprise - it's a NEW MUG!!!

Tristan jumped up and down on the couch...he was so excited (again)

and BIG hugs for Uncle Kirk!

Little did we know... T would get to sit IN the car!!

(I mentioned OUT LOUD that this better be the ONLY time I see a police car in my driveway!!)

time to get in!

and we just said "DON'T TOUCH ANY BUTTONS" - we'll have 50 Dallas PD here in 5!

Then Uncle Kirk came back to see the play yard...

and before he left, he said he would turn on the sirens...

and turn on the "Pull your butt over - BEEP BEEP" sound

then we blew kisses and said goodbye.

SO awesome to bless Uncle Kirk!!!!  He blesses us daily....and rarely gets the praise he deserves!!

D-O-N-E

And we have a happy little boy!

Getting closer!!

They arrived at around 9:30am to start setting up

Apparently this is a VERy difficult set to build

11:34am - this is what they completed:

2:32pm - here is where we are....

Lookin' good.

Snag though... they sent us the wrong screws so Holt has to run and buy 300.  Oh boy...

Wish us luck!

June Service Project started out so well...

Well, June was a crazy month for us and it was Police Officer month so we needed something "easy" if possible BUT it needed to be meaningful because Tristan LOVES Police.

So...after a bit of thought... I called and asked Kathy what I could surprise Kirk with. After explaining that you can't really surprise a Police Officer (duh!) Kath had a great idea... this...

New mug for Uncle Kirk's desk!  She also mentioned a candy jar would go over well!

So, we made him a matching card AND got him a candy jar and filled it with his favorite stuff.

Thankfully, they came over today to see the new house and we told him we needed him to pop over...

he had no idea why and boy was he surprised!!

So T handed him the mug and it... well... T (yes, brilliant I know...)

DROPPED THE MUG.

OOPS

(already placed the new order)

So I was smarter and I handed Kirk his new desk candy jar!!

All in all .. it was a hit and now we get to see Uncle Kirk again when he picks up his new mug!

So we showed them around the house... gave the tour, Kath and I chatted decorating ideas

then we heard "Uh oh Mama, uh oh" and I ran towards the sound and said

"WHERE ARE YOU TRISTAN!?!?!?!?" (insert fear)

and he said "I hiding" (insert minimal fear, and some serious curiosity)

so after the back and forth of why and because...

I found him.

Behind Holt's chair...  M&Ms. All. Over. The. Floor

AND

a majorly cracked container. *SIGH*

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - there goes Daddy's Father's Day gift and some expensive M&M's

I bet you are thinking - man two in 24 hours.  Oh no... it's actually THREE... yup.

Last night Tristan had this (and I didn't know it)

and he squeezed (what used to be) the little snow globe ball and it exploded. (Jesus DOES LOVE US... because the glass didn't cut him) and he was soaked with water (and glitter of course) Do you see MY band-aid? Well, I cleaned it up... and T slept in our room.

Today I was making his bed and apparently didn't get it all because I rubbed my hand on the comforter (that was no where near him when this happend) and a shard of glass was still present so in the theme of the day... it cut me.  (Oh and earlier... one of the other two cut me - they happened so close together I don't remember what. So the other hand is just as damaged.)

Bummed that it effected our service project but A) we are ok, B) Kirk was still happy and C) I have an idea to make this all end in a chuckle.  You'll see... Thursday!

First Barber-Q with the McCoys

Yesterday I snuck into T's room and reminded him

Time to get up...

sleepy head...

cuz we're having a Barber-Q~~

with the crazy McCoys!

They arrived at around 3pm and hit the water full steam ahead...

T and Maddox took over the hot tub

and Ryan was a fish in the pool

water fights galore

and a ton of cannon balls!

cute-ness was constant

and plenty of giggles

and smiles....

a chicken fight

and even some lovin'

this is Mini-Kelby. All day I just called them "The Kelbys" because he IS his daddy!!

then after dinner, they were pooped.  Movie time.  So we made them popcorn and the huddled on the couch for some Incredibles.

Then, they had ants in their pants and grabbed the flash lights and lanters and gathered fire ants.  I had no idea.. I thought they were catching rolly-pollys..but no, they snuck fire ants into my house.

(My toe was seriously scared and considered relocating from my body. It still hasn't recovered from Thursdays bite.)

Little cuties!!

But they soon grew tired of bugs and went back inside to rest.

OR SO WE THOUGHT...

It was late, the McCoys needed to go so we started packing up.

When we came back in the house... we found our June "service project" (a jar of chocolate candy) cracked into.  Those little sugar hoarders ate a TON of chocolate.

They said "don't look, we didn't do anything" and there were wrappers EVERYWHERE.

Thankfully, we knew they were exhausted so we just cleaned up, tucked the McCoys into their car seats and T in bed.  15 minutes later my little man was fast asleep.

Nothing better than having friends over.  GREAT 1st Barber-Q!

We love you McCoys - come back ASAP!!!
